Vectorbeam was an arcade game company that operated during the late 1970s. It focused on creating arcade games that used vector graphics, a special type of visual display. The company was formed after separating from its main competitor, Cinematronics. It ended operations after merging with Cinematronics again shortly after its founding.
Vectorbeam was started by Larry Rosenthal, who used research from his time at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He developed a unique arcade display technology that he patented. The company competed with other arcade game makers. It stopped working after low sales of its game called Barrier. Vectorbeam sold its equipment to Cinematronics before it closed.
