Silkroad Online (Korean: 실크로드 온라인) is a fantasy online game where many players can join. It is set in the 7th century AD along the Silk Road, which connected China and Europe. The game does not require a subscription fee that comes regularly. However, players may choose to buy special items to change the game's appearance or make progress faster.
Gameplay
Silkroad Online is known for its "Triangular Conflict System," where players choose one of three jobs: trader, hunter, or thief. These jobs interact in player versus player combat. Thieves attack traders, who are protected by hunters. Hunters defeat thieves to gain experience and level up. Traders complete trade tasks to earn experience and increase their level. Thieves also kill traders and hunters to gain experience. Additionally, thieves can steal items dropped by traders and take them to the thieves' den to exchange for gold and experience.
In the Legend I update, European classes and areas were added to International servers. In Legend II, a game mode called "Fortress War" was introduced. In this mode, guilds compete to control a fort, which allows them to collect taxes and gain prestige over other guilds. In Legend III, a new area called Roc Mountain was added, and the maximum level players could reach was increased to 90. Also, 9th Degree Armor and Weapons were added for both races. In Legend III+, the Bandit Fortress was added to iSRO, along with the Devil's Spirit silk dress.
In March 2009, Legend IV was released for the international version of Silkroad. This update included 10th Degree Weapons and Armor for both European and Chinese characters. A new area called Ch'in Tomb was also added, featuring monsters with levels ranging from 70 to 100. To enter the tomb, a character must be level 70 or higher. A unique monster added in this update was Medusa, a level 105 snake inspired by Greek mythology.
Players can choose to create either a Chinese or European character. Each race has its own strengths, weaknesses, cities, weapons, armor, and classes.
