The company's main office is in Shibuya, Tokyo, and it also has an office in Sapporo. Nintendo Cube Co., Ltd. is most famous for creating the Mario Party series starting with Mario Party 9. Before this, the series was made by another company called Hudson Soft.

History

The company was created on March 1, 2000, as Nd Cube. It was formed as a partnership between Nintendo and Dentsu, the largest advertising company in Japan. The name "ND" stands for Nintendo-Dentsu. At the time of its founding, Nintendo owned 78% of the company, Dentsu owned 13.3%, and other shareholders owned the remaining 8.7%.

After the 2007 release of Mario Party 8, many employees from Hudson Soft joined Nd Cube. This included Hidetoshi Endo, who was the president of Hudson Soft and became the president of Nd Cube around 2009.

In 2010, Nintendo purchased the shares owned by Dentsu and other shareholders, becoming the majority owner. Initially, Nintendo owned 78% of the company, but this increased to 96% in 2010, 97% in 2015, and 99% by 2023.

In 2012, Nd Cube changed its name to NDcube. That same year, the company released Mario Party 9 for the Wii, which was its first Mario Party game.

In 2019, Shuichiro Nishiya, the director of the Mario Party series from Mario Party 6 to Super Mario Party, became the company’s president, replacing Hidetoshi Endo. Endo had served as president for nearly ten years.

In 2024, NDcube changed its name to Nintendo Cube.
