Cultural impact

  • Soulcalibur IV (2008) – A fighting game. At release, Darth Vader was only available on the PlayStation 3 version, Yoda was only available on the Xbox 360 version, and Darth Vader's apprentice Galen Starkiller Marek was available on both versions. Later, Darth Vader and Yoda became available for purchase as downloadable content for the versions they were missing on at release. Each Star Wars character had their own ending in the "Story Mode." In late 2016, all downloadable content for Soulcalibur IV was removed from the PlayStation and Microsoft stores due to changes in licensing rights after Disney purchased Star Wars.
