Idea Factory Holdings Co., Ltd. is a Japanese company that creates and sells video games. It was started by people who used to work at Data East in October 1994. The company is famous for making role-playing games and visual novels, which are interactive story games. Some of these games are released under a brand called Otomate.
A part of the company makes otome games, which are a type of visual novel often enjoyed by female players, under the name Otomate. In 2013, Idea Factory opened a branch in California called Idea Factory International to help make games easier to understand for people outside Japan and to sell them in other countries.
In 2022, the company created a new group called Altergear. This group focuses on making visual novels that are targeted toward male players.

The company's international branch, Idea Factory International, was started on September 30, 2013, in California, United States. It acts as the company's main branch for publishing outside the company's home country.
