Qwak is a 2D puzzle-platform game created by Jamie Woodhouse. It was first released for the BBC Micro and Acorn Electron in 1989 as part of the Play It Again Sam 10 collection by Superior and Acornsoft. In 1993, an improved version for the Amiga was released at a lower cost by Team17. This version included a two-player mode and more levels. Later that year, the game was released again on the Amiga CD32 as part of a package that included the science fiction shooter Alien Breed.
In 2006, Woodhouse finished making a version of Qwak for the Game Boy Advance. Versions for Microsoft Windows, Macintosh, and iOS are also available.
Gameplay
The goal of the game is to help a green duck move through eighty levels. Players can collect fruit and gems to earn points, and enemies can be defeated by using egg weapons. Progress in the game is earned by collecting gold and silver keys. Special items, such as 'chocolate egg' weapons and extra shots, are also available.
In addition to regular levels, challenge levels require players to finish the level and collect all fruit within twenty seconds.
After completing all eighty levels, the levels begin again from the start.
