Hassan began his professional career when he joined Evil Geniuses in 2015. In the same year, he and the team won The International 2015, which earned him over a million dollars in prize money. He remained with the team for the next four years, achieving different levels of success. In 2019, Hassan left Evil Geniuses to briefly play with his brother on the Quincy Crew before joining OG in 2020. He has also played for Team Liquid, Team Aster, and Team Secret.

Early years

Sumail was born on February 13, 1999, in Karachi, Pakistan. He has a brother named Yawar Hassan, who also plays professional Dota 2. Sumail began playing Dota 2 when he was eight years old. In 2012, he and his family moved from Pakistan to the United States. He currently lives in Rosemont, Illinois, and is a resident of the United States.

Career

When Sumail arrived in America, he began playing in the North American Elite League. He quickly became the top-rated player in the in-house league and was considered one of the best unsigned talents in North America. In January 2015, Evil Geniuses (EG) signed him, joining players Fear, Aui_2000, Universe, and ppd. A month later, EG and Sumail competed in the Dota 2 Asia Championships, where they finished first. EG’s captain, ppd, focused on creating strategies that highlighted Sumail’s skills. Sumail’s strong performance at the tournament earned him recognition as a young talent in both the Chinese and English Dota scenes.

EG entered The International 2015 as a top team. However, they faced a challenge after losing the upper bracket finals 0–2 to CDEC Gaming. EG then defeated LGD Gaming in the lower bracket finals and won the grand finals 3–1 against CDEC, securing a US$6.6 million prize. This victory made Sumail the youngest player to earn over a million dollars in esports. In 2016, Time magazine named him one of "the 30 Most Influential Teens." In September 2019, Sumail was announced to join the Quincy Crew with his brother Yawar. However, he left the team after a few weeks, as the manager said he was not a "good fit." He later joined OG in 2020 and left the team in July 2020.

In April 2021, Sumail signed with Team Liquid as a temporary player for the second season of the 2021 Dota Pro Circuit. He left Team Liquid two months later and rejoined OG. He then returned to OG in June 2021 before playing for Team Secret and Team Nigma.

In May 2023, Sumail joined Team Aster on loan until the end of The International 2023 cycle. In 2024, he competed in the 1win Series Dota 2 Fall tournament. In February 2025, he replaced Stanislav "Malr1ne" Potorak at DreamLeague Season 25.
