LDLC OL was a French esports organization most famous for its teams in Counter-Strike. The organization also supported teams in Fortnite Battle Royale, League of Legends, PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds, and World Rally Championship.
Originally called Team LDLC.com, the name came from a French company. On January 7, 2020, Team LDLC changed its name to LDLC OL after announcing a partnership with the French football club Olympique Lyonnais. On May 16, 2023, LDLC announced the end of its partnership with Olympique Lyonnais and stated it would stop all esports activities by the end of July 2023.
History
LDLC placed 5–8th at the CS:GO Major EMS One Katowice 2014. They then won the CS:GO Major DreamHack Winter 2014 in November. Team LDLC's CS:GO team won the X Games CS:GO tournament in January 2015. On February 2, the team members left LDLC and joined Team EnVyUs.
On February 27, the team announced it had signed the former Awsomiac squad, which included players Kevin "madc" Ducourtioux, Charbel "BouLy" Naoum, David "HEdm" Thalien, Guillaume "XpG" Veron, and Julien "PetitSkel" Marcantoni.
After competing at ESL One Cologne 2014 as a player for Team LDLC, Hovik "KQLY" Tovmassian received a permanent Valve Anti-Cheat ban for Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. This ban led people to guess that cheating software might have affected his performance at the tournament. Tovmassian later said he had not used cheating software during any LAN tournaments.
In March 2015, LDLC signed the Platinum Esports roster as a second CS:GO team, called LDLC Blue.
In November 2017, Team LDLC won the ESWC 2017 at the Paris Games Week after winning in 2015.
LDLC signed Nexl, who was a champion in the World Rally Championship multiple times.
