Solasta II is a new tactical role-playing game created by Tactical Adventures and released by Kepler Interactive. It is the follow-up to Solasta: Crown of the Magister, which was released in 2021. An early access version of the game is planned to be available for Windows in March 2026.
Gameplay
Solasta II is a tactical role-playing game. Players guide a group of characters as they explore the large land area of Neokos. Battles in the game happen in turns, with each player taking actions one at a time. The story follows four siblings from the Colwall family who travel to defeat a mysterious being called Shadwyn after their mother passes away. Although the game is not part of the Dungeons and Dragons series, it uses the same rules as the fifth edition of Dungeons and Dragons. The game includes six main character types, each with two or three special options. It also allows up to four players to work together in multiplayer mode.
Development
Solasta II is being developed by Tactical Adventures, a company with about 50 employees. Unlike the first game, which used Unity, Solasta II was created with Unreal Engine. To keep the experience fresh for returning players and create a feeling of discovery, the team set the game in a new continent. They also introduced new races, factions, and locations for the sequel. Studio head Mathieu Girard stated that Solasta II tells a "story of a family." The team hired several well-known voice actors, including Ben Starr, Devora Wilde, Amelia Tyler, and Ellen Thomas, to voice the game's characters.
In 2025, Tactical Adventures announced it had become the ninth independent studio to join the group of studios that co-own Kepler Interactive. Solasta II was announced in December 2024 during The Game Awards. A gameplay demo was released during Steam Next Fest in February 2025. The game is scheduled to be released for Windows through early access on March 12, 2026.
